Local Exploration

Futtsu, Chiba—where SATOYAMA TERRACE is located—is embraced by both sea and mountains, and still retains the nostalgic beauty of the traditional Satoyama landscape. We invite you to visit the local scenic spots, each revealing a different face of the region with the changing seasons.

Meisui Taki no Fudōson

Not far from SATOYAMA TERRACE is the Meisui Taki no Fudōson, nestled quietly in the quiet rural woodlands of the Tabara district.
Sourcing from Mt. Mizumuro, the spring water that gush over here is said to have never dried up, even in any drought, and has been revered by local people as sacred water since ancient times.
The cold water bath at SATOYAMA TERRACE was designed with inspiration from this spring of Meisui Taki no Fudōson, which symbolizes this land’s abundant blessings of water.

Kyushitaki Falls

Kyushitaki Falls is said to be the hidden spot closest from central Tokyo.
The sound of the waterfall cascading quietly between the deep greenery and rock faces makes you feel as if time has stopped.
It is a place where you can really feel how this land is blessed with water.

Momiji road

Prefectural Route 182 (Kamihataminato Line), which runs for about 10km along the Shimokoma River near SATOYAMA TERRACE, is commonly known as “Momiji Road.”
Approximately 1,000 momiji (Japanese maple) trees line the road, making it one of the prefecture’s best spots to see autumn foliage. The best time to see them is from late November to early December. Said to be one of the latest areas for autumn foliage in the Kanto region, you can enjoy the vibrantly colored scenery of the rural woodland landscape amid the sunlight filtering through the trees in late autumn.
